Asking for tap water on holiday

It's that time of year where we all start jetting off to get some sun. A lot of people are often worried about drinking the water whilst on holiday but it's actually safe to drink the water in pretty much all of Europe, US and Canada (and other countries too). The tip is to ask the locals whether its safe to drink! To help you out here's how to say tap water in a few different languages.  If you know some more add them to the comments below!

French - l'eau du robinet (if in a restaurant ask for une carafe d'eau)

Spanish - agua del grifo

Italian - acqua del rubinetto

Greek - to neró ti̱s vrýsi̱s

Portuguese - água de torneira

German - leitungswasser
